You're not the only one who should have fun on Halloween. Your dog can dress up, too. Pet costumes for dogs come in all shapes and sizes.



Remember to give your dog lots of water so he or she doesn't overheat in the costume. And NEVER give chocolate to dogs. This can kill them!

Some tips for choosing a dog costume:

1. Make sure your dog is willing to wear it.
Be respectful of your dog's tolerance. Don't force him to wear something he doesn't want to, just because he'll look funny.
2. Make sure your dog can see, hear, walk, bark, and drink.
Choose a costume that will not hamper your dog.
3. Make sure your dog is visible.
Use a dog safety light, dog safety vest, or lighted leash or collar if you will be in the dark.
